JAMES RYMAN RICHARDS

JAMES RYMAN RICHARDS (1887- ) born at Oxford, England, son of John William Richards, enlisted to serve as a Private 4229, 60th Battalion Reinforcement, 6-9 on December 20th, 1915 at Casula. He was selected for Officers Training School at Duntroon from where he graduated on June 20th, 1916 as a 2nd Lieutenant. The Battalion embarked from Sydney HMAT Afric A19 on November 3rd, 1916, landed at Plymouth on January 9th, 1917. and served until July 1917, at which time he requested permission to transfer to the Imperial Army. He was discharged on August 25th, 1917. Seemingly it was his desire to stay in England. He returned after the war.
