The Grandfather I Never Knew

Francis George Denslow born Membury Axminster England was a devoted husband and father who died at the age of 47 in Merredin Western Australia in 1933. He was enlisted in the the Grenadier Guards in the Pontypridd regiment England 19/02/1904 and was discharged 12/11/1917 after 13 years and 107. He embarked in Australia 30/10/1917. He was a sergeant in the 2nd  battalion, service number 4282. He was discharged in 1919 as medically unfit due a gun shot wound in the knee. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. Unfortunately the majority of grandchildren never had the privilege of knowing their much loved husband, father and grandfather.
