Robert Beale Murrurundi ANZAC

Robert Beale was born in 1896  near Murrurundi NSW and worked as a labourer when he joined the Australian Imperial Force on 14th September 1915 at the age of 21. 

He served in the First World War with the 1st Light Horse Regiment  embarking from Sydney on the 23rd of October 1915 on the ship SS Hawkes Bay.

He was transferred from the Light Horse Regiment to Artillery Details 15th May 1916 at Tel-el-Kabir Egypt
His Statement of Service records state he was  reported wounded in action with unspecified injuries on 3rd May  1918 and returned to Australia 19th August 1919. 

He was discharged on 9th December 1919 and awarded 1914 - 15 Star, General Service and Victory Medals.
