Private Charles Henry BAKER 2379

Private Charles H. Baker was born in Murrurundi NSW. He was 44 years old at time of enlistment. His next of kin was listed as his wife, Lily Baker. He enlisted on the 25th May 1916 with the 5/54th Battalion. He embarked on the 30th September 1916 from Sydney NSW and disembarked at Plymouth on the 19th November 1916. He was wounded in action on the 26th September 1917 with a shrapnel wound to the head. He was transferred to the 24 General Hospital, England on the 30th October 1917. He was discharged in 1918 and returned to Australia per Marathon, disembarking at Sydney on the 12th June 1918.
