Long lost soul
Submitted by: Anne berrysmith

My great uncle signed up late in WW1. On the troop carrier there was an outbreak of influenza, I believe many died. Albert was taken to hospital in Sierra Leone where he died and is buried in the King Tom Cemetary.  This all one month before the end of the war. I never met Albert and he was never really spoken about, not sure if by purpose or they thought us all too young to understand. My grandpa, his brother lived till he was 81, passing away in 1969. Unfortunately I don't have any photos my iPad to share.
