Murrurundi War Memorial Gates

Murrurundi Anzac Day March 2014

Once again our Anzacs and soldiers were honoured by the community of Murrurundi on Anzac Day.

Murrurundi is a small rural village in the top end of the Upper Hunter region in New South Wales.

The autumn weather was perfect and crowds of people came out to support those marching, and to join in the remembrance service held in the historic RSL Hall in Murrurundi.

In the video clip below you will see ex-servicemen and women as well as families and school children marching in the Anzac Day Parade. School children from Murrurundi and Blandford Public, from Quirindi High and from Scone High and Scone Grammar participated in the march.

At the end of the march, the Anzac Day commemoration service was held in the RSL Hall.

As well, the official opening of the Murrurundi World War One Exhibition was held, where an outstanding display of story-boards and war memorabilia could be viewed.

This exhibition will be open on weekends for over 12 months.
